“The hitches rained down as the walls went up”

Karen Reads for us theis week. She reads from Nehemiah Ch 4 ver 1 - 23. Colin continues in his series fro the book of Nehemiah.

Nehemiah chapter 4 shows that the rebuilding of the wall told in chapter 3 was not all plain sailing. In fact, chapters 3 to 6 reveal a cycle of advances and set-backs. The Christian life is the same. Knowing God’s will and seeking to accomplish it may result in anger, in mockery, in intimidation, in fatigue and discouragement leading to fear. Nehemiah’s response was to urge them to remember their awesome God, to pray, to work, to be vigilant and to remain focused on the Lord.  That is good advice for us today.
