Giving and Recieving

This week we have included our welcome message by Steve and Ruth reads from Luke Ch 7 ver 36 - 50. 

In this study Andrew looks at the matter of giving to God’s work based on Paul’s thank you letter to the Philippians.  We see the commendable giving of the Philippians in response to the love of Christ to them and we see Paul’s wonderful Christian contentment as the receiver of the gift.  This is a great contrast to the attitude of many so called servants of Christ who have a focus on the gifts that can receive from their listeners. However, the highlight of the passage is how God views our gifts as “a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice” and the promise that He will “meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus”.
