The People, the Book and the Platform

This week Eleana reads from Nehemiah Ch 8 and Colin continues in his series from that book.

How many people today would be willing to listen to the reading and exposition of the Bible from dawn ‘til noon? This is what the inhabitants of Jerusalem and surroundings did in 444 BC. True revival starts from the bottom up – with ordinary folks. These people were single-minded and all-eared. As they listened, they digested and acted upon what they heard. God’s word convicted them of sin, revealed God’s grace and guaranteed the necessary resources to put right that which was wrong. Let us learn from their example.
